Always a ‘must do’ for first-time visitors [ and others] is a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower. The view of the city from the top on a clear day is fabulous and you can celebrate with a glass of champagne at The Champagne Bar.
Part of the visit is the elevator ride. There are 2; one goes to the first floor, where you can experience the new transparent floor, 57m above street level or take a meal in the 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant. You can also walk up to the 1st level and continue to the second if you arefit
On the 2nd floor is the famous Jules Verne restaurant – fine dining at a ‘fine’ price!!
Finally after a 180 m ride to the top you can enjoy the 360 degree view and also visit Gustave Eiffel’s office that has been restored to its original form.
Unfortunately the cost of entry will increase effective November 2:
Adult tickets to go to the top, increase from €17 to €25 and the cost for the 1st floor by elevator increases from €11 to €16. If you want to walk up it will cost you €10, up from €7. These price increases are to help finance an ambitious 15 year refurbishment and modernization of the Iron Lady at a projected cost of €300 million.
Regardless its worth the visit and is still cheaper that a visit to the Empire State building or the Tower of London which cost the approximately equivalent of €29.
